Gary VandenBergh is a Producer/Editor and owner of Complete Montage, LLC.
Gary has been producing, editing, color correcting and finishing commercials, Independent films, documentaries, television shows, promos, sales and marketing programs since 1980. Gary’s recent credits include; NBC News Productions including The Today Show, Nightly News, Dateline, MSNBC Longform, ABC News 20/20, CBS News, CNBC; PBS' BluePrint America: Beyond the Motor City, Blueprint America: Road to the Future; Annie Leibovitz: Life Through a Lens for PBS’ American Masters series; The Supreme Court for PBS; Meeting Resistance – an independent documentary feature on the Iraq insurgency and Ben’s Plan – an independent feature. Gary has been involved in the launch of a new cable network and the development of a web-based Diabetes Project. Gary started his career at N.W. Ayer Advertising agency as a Print Production Coordinator. He moved on to Doyle Dane Bernbach (DDB Worldwide) supervising print production on many highly-visible advertising campaigns of the late 1970s. In 1980, Gary moved into video production and post-production by translating artist’s ideas into television at the Inter-Media Art Center (IMAC) in Huntington, LI. He became the Studio Manager and Director of Editorial Services at IMAC’s video production studio and performance space. Gary then became a media consultant and production/post-production professional setting up Video Training Networks, writing, producing and editing content for numerous Food Industry clients throughout the country and several Caribbean Islands. Gary expanded his role throughout the 1980s editing corporate content for companies like Johnson & Johnson, GTE, AT&T and many others. In 1990 Gary joined National Video Center as a Senior Editor where he edited and finished television series, independent films, promos and commercials. He was also credited as Co-Producer/Editor on commercials, music videos, promos and corporate image pieces.
More recently, Complete Montage, LLC has garnered several awards; a Telly in 2008 for best sales video for Bankrate, Inc; one of the internet’s most highly trafficked personal finance websites; in 2006 Complete Montage, LLC won another Telly and a 2006 Communicator Award for Best Editor on the High Definition open for the Food Network show, Boy Meets Grill with Bobby Flay. In 1993 Gary won a New York Emmy for his pioneering work as a promo editor on A Current Affair. These promos set the tone for network promos to this day. Gary also won a Best Editor Monitor Award in 1993 for the launch of QVC and Best Editor for A Current Affair Promos. Gary has also on-lined many documentaries for clients like Discovery/Times Television, The National Geographic Channel, The Travel Channel, Granada Television and others.
In addition, in 2003 Gary co-wrote and compiled the coffee-table art book, Will Elder: The Mad Playboy of Art and wrote and co-produced Will’s follow-up book in 2005, Chicken Fat. Both published by Fantagraphics Books, Inc.
